How many players can play together?
The official FAQ describes single-player and up to four-player co-op. Four is the total announced group size, not four guests in addition to a host.
This is the studio's announced design, not a result from our own playtest. We have not verified matchmaking, invitation flow or performance with a full group.
Who hosts a session?
The FAQ names a listen-server, peer-to-peer architecture. In the studio's explanation, players host sessions directly, reducing dependence on dedicated game servers.
That is a networking design choice, not evidence that every supporting online service can disappear without affecting the game. It also does not confirm host migration, LAN support or how disconnects will be handled.
Offline
In Steam discussion reply #6, bogdan.oprescu, marked as a developer, states that Wolcen 2 will be playable offline and that an internet connection is required for co-op.
The store's minimum-requirements table also lists broadband internet. The developer's reply clarifies the intended role of that requirement; it should not be read as proof that solo play must always be online.
This is a developer statement. We have not tested first-launch activation, account checks, disconnected play or save transfers between modes.
What is not confirmed here?
The cited material does not establish crossplay, cross-save, local split-screen, host migration or LAN play. A future console release plan does not automatically imply that PC and console players can join the same session.
For the broader technology change from the first game, see Wolcen 1 vs Wolcen 2. For hardware, use the system requirements rather than assuming co-op performance from the engine name.
